Background

The Management Institute for National Development of Somalia (MIND) was established due to capacity deficits of Somalia’s post conflict state institutions to set and implement development

objectives on a sustainable basis to improve performance, effectiveness and accountability of institutions as well as an expressed interest of government leaders and public administration

practitioners who strive to make ends meet in order to overcome challenges of public security, social services, economic development, political conflicts, terrorism and infrastructure and asset management problems.

MIND of Somalia was pioneered by a group of renowned professional consultants from various public and private institutions across the world with background and knowledge in various academic fields ranging from human resource, accounting and finance, strategic leadership and management, performance management, engineering, project management, information technology, public sector management, economics, disaster management, governance, health, security etc.

MIND is well positioned to develop government, non-profit organizations and private entities capacities by respectively addressing organizational capacity, sectoral capacity and institutional capacity leading towards the ‘Somalia We Want’ support reforms aimed at making national and sub-national political systems more efficient and transparent.

MIND of Somalia aspires to be an institution with a reputation in four major areas: teaching and training, research, consultancy, performance management and strategic communication to prepare people to become agents of change for every sector and all levels of government.
